If you are a foreigner say an Overseas Filipino Worker or OFW working in a different county, you will be required to get a work permit or visa. This is true if you want to work in Singapore.
In Singapore, your basic salary will determine if you are qualified to get and EMPLOYMENT PASS or if you are required to get a WORK VISA.
An Employment Pass is for professionals who receives $2,800 a month or more. Employment Passes have 2 qualifications, “P” and “Q. The P Employment pass is for individuals who make at least $4,000 a month. Q qualifications are for those receiving salaries between $2,800 and $4,000.
Work Visa on the other hand are for those expats receiving less than $2,800 a month.

How to Get a Work VISA and Employment Pass in Singapore
Step #1
Complete and sign a copy of Form 8 or the Employment Pass Application Form. You can download this form online at the Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower website . Form 8 is easy to fill up but it requires your signature and your employer or sponsor’s signature as well. The sponsor company’s stamp or seal is also required on the application forms. 3 copies of the Form 8 is required.
Step #2
Submit the completed Form 8 or the Employment Pass Application Forms, together with a copy of the information page of your passport. Your College diploma or educational certificates will also be needed.
The Annex A on Form 8 will show other documents to be reproduced and to be submitted depending on the type of work you’ll be doing when in Singapore. Submitted the form to the Singapore Immigration and Registration office or any Ministry of Manpower approved SignPost office.
Step #3
Upon submitting, you are to pay the administration fee and other fees based on your assessment.
Step #4
A minimum waiting period of five weeks for the application is needed for it to be to be assessed. If the application has been approved, an In-Principle Approval letter will be sent to your employer or sponsor.
Step #5
Request the Issue of Pass in which your employer is tasked to complete this work permit process. The secondary fee payment is also shouldered by the employer.
Your employer will then be sent a Notification Letter and once the notice is received, your employer will then set up an appointment for the two of you at the Employment Pass Services Center. You will then register your photo identification and fingerprints. The Notification Letter will list the documents you need to bring with you to this meeting.
Step #6
Collect your Employment Pass. Your official Employment Pass can be picked up four working days after registering your photo identification and fingerprints from the lobby of the Employment Pass Services Center.
After getting your Employment Pass, you are now allowed to work in Singapore!!!
